Family is considered the most important circle in one’s life. That’s why we see to it that every special occasion such as birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and most especially Christmas and New Year’s Eve, is spent with our families.

If you are tired of celebrating occasions at home and are eager to try something new that all your kin would enjoy, then head up north and pay a visit to the house – House of Chops, that is – where you and your family can indulge in juicy, quality meats while enjoying each other’s company.

Here’s is my family’s experience in this meat haven in the Clark Freeport Zone last December.

Cozy interiors

A cozy place with minimalist design, you’ll never feel that you left home once you step on House of Chops. Customers can delight in a spacious area with ample tables for guests. The diner also boasts of a relaxing vibe, allowing families to eat, move, and even groove to their heart’s content.

Champion service

Now, let’s talk about one of the first things diners look for in a restaurant: warm service.

The House of Chops staff are very accommodating. Wearing wide smiles, they would always make you feel welcome as you spend a few hours in the diner and make memories with your loved ones. They are also very knowledgeable on the resto’s offerings, with a variety of suggestions in hand for you to better enjoy your meal.

Wide variety of dishes

Living up to its name, House of Chops excites its diners with its wide range of offerings that vary from appetizers, sides, pastas, salads, and mains to drinks and desserts. It also have special meals for kids ages 10 years old and under, such as spaghetti and chicken fingers, roasted chicken with gravy and rice, and popcorn shrimp and fries, to name a few.

We ordered one of their best-sellers: crackling pork belly roast with miso butter.

The belly was truly divine! It was cooked to perfection; the meat was tender and juicy, yet the pork skin was perfectly crispy. The taste was even made more memorable with gravy and miso butter.

My personal favorite though is the slow-roasted U.S. beef belly with peppercorn gravy. Served with cheesy broccoli rice and mashed potato on the side, it’s heaven. Their chops, partnered with tasty sides and sauces, are truly to die for.

Be sure to also try other bestsellers, including USDA angus beef, ribeye steak, and US corned beef brisket with cabbage and horseradish cream.

Don’t forget to try hardcore carnivore, an all-meat dish of slow-roasted US beef belly, crackling pork belly roast, and baby back ribs.

Lean dishes

Not-so-young family members of quite conscious about their figure can opt for lean dishes like pesto-stuffed chicken rolls, creamy wild mushroom truffle pasta, and shrimp and salmon duet in lemon cream. We had all these, and boy I can definitely say that all are worth trying and tasting! Because of their generous servings, we were even able to take some home!

A house you would want to be in

Two things we like about House of Chops: One, their dishes are delectable, and two, they are affordable, considering the large portions. The prices suit the average Pinoy’s budget.

House of Chops won’t fail your palate, and we will definitely go back this year for another round of their chops.

So, next time you’ll have an upcoming family gathering, you know where to take the gang!

The Essentials

How to get there

By private vehicle: If you are coming from Manila, take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and exit at Clark. Turn right to Aniceto Gueco Street, then turn right to Manila North Road. Just a few meters after, you will reach a roundabout. Head to Manuel A. Roxas Hi-way and continue on this road. After around 6 kilometers, you will arrive at the House of Chops.
