After it announced that local tourists of all ages are now allowed to visit Boracay, the Department of Tourism made it even more convenient by announcing a week later that tourists no longer need to obtain a travel authority from the Philippine National Police (PNP).
On September 30, DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said that tourists only need to meet these conditions to be permitted entry into the island:
- A duly accomplished online health declaration form
- Confirmed hotel bookings prior to arriving on the island
- A negative result from a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test 48 to 72 hours prior to traveling to the island
- Has no comorbidity or health risks
To avoid hassles, all tourists are advised to keep their tourist QR codes for island services.
